Not the one in Australia- though you could easily be forgiven for thinking that because the UK Newcastle Upon Tyne is a twin city of Newcastle in Australia has a similar cultural history.
With a population of about 280,000 (in the metropolitan borough and city, 2011), and an area of only 44 square miles, Newcastle Upon Tyne is located in County Durham in the North-East of England (on the borders of Scotland).
Home to St James Park (Newcastle United Football Club), a booming nightlife, and a seat of educational excellence with two top tier universities, Newcastle is an amazing city to visit.
The weather wasn't that pleasant when I visited, however I still managed to get some good shots during my 36 hours in the city. Most of the city center can easily be explored by foot in a day or two.
